The Remote control helicopter or radio control helicopter is said to be the fastest growing hobby in the radio control world. The first of the practical rc helicopter started off sometime in the 70s or 80s. After several waves of development they become more improved and refined to what we know as the remote control gas helicopter or gas rc helicopter for short. These gas powered rc helicopter were the only widely available types of rc helicopter then.
As more rapid development in technology evolves, more advanced technologies previously only available to most aviation & aerospace industries were then more accessible with feasable and applicable applications in the general consumer technology, thus including the radio control world, particularly the remote control helicopter.
With this continuing trend, the electric rc helicopter now become widely available as well. Even these are now growing to many more types and models with even smaller in size like the mini rc helicopter, micro rc helicopter and currently the so called pico rc helicopter. |

History Of Radio Controlled Model Helicopters
By Manolito Montala |
| Although experiments with rotary winged aircraft may be traced back to Leonardo da Vinci, successful flights were not achieved until the 1930s, and it was not until 1941 that the first practical, full size helicopter was built by lgor Sikorsky. Model enthusiasts are notably quick to emulate full-size aviation achievements, but were not as successful with rotary wing aircraft, and it was not until 1968 that the first fully controllable R/C model helicopter appeared, built by Dr. Dieter Schluter of West Germany ... |

Flying RC Helicopter
By Low Jeremy
|
| One of the most thrilling experiences you can have is to fly an aircraft on your own. That is, if you can afford to buy your private helicopter or can avail flying school training. But if both of these are far from realization, then you must have an alternative. No, it’s not what you are thinking. You cannot hijack an aircraft! Cut that idea off your mind.
